June Update on Monitoring Dlı̨̀ą K'et'aa (Bats) Along the Tłı̨chǫ Highway

In June 2025, WRRB staff returned to the acoustic recording units (ARUs) placed along the Tłı̨chǫ Highway to Whatì for a quick but important maintenance stop. Laura and Mary swapped out batteries to keep units running smoothly during the summer season.

While bats are rarely spotted in Wek’èezhìı, the recordings help confirm their presence in the region and provide valuable information about which species are using the area and when they’re active.

Masì cho for staying curious about these small but mighty night flyers — and helping support bat research in the North!
