In June 2020, the WRRB challenged the WLWB to a friendly competition to gather non-perishables for The NWT Miracle, which was held July 1st. The NWT Miracle is a non-profit initiative intended to combat food insecurity in the Northwest Territories. The north is not immune to this issue, and particularly during COVID-19, things have been harder for some, which means a greater burden on the food banks and other charities. The NWT Miracle hopes to lessen that burden through the generosity of local residence who have the means to give. The WLWB and WRRB are proud to announce that between the two Boards, 77 cans, 6 jars, 24 boxes, and 21 bags of food were collected for donation. Even though The NWT Miracle is over for now, it is never to late to donate. Contact your local food bank to see what they need and give back to the community by helping them out!
