The Wekʼèezhìi Renewable Resources Board (WRRB) is a wildlife co-management authority established by the Tłįcho Agreement.

The Wekʼèezhìi Renewable Resources Board

The WRRB is responsible for managing wildlife and wildlife habitat (forests, plants and protected areas) in the area known as Wekʼèezhìi. The WRRB is an institution of public government and must act in the public interest.

Wekʼèezhìi (see map) is an area larger than the land owned by the Tłįcho. This land shares boundaries with the Sahtu Settlement Area and Nunavut, and includes the four Tłįcho communities of Gamètì, Wekweètì, Whatì and Behchokò.

Board Proceedings

The Board may engage with the public to hear its views on wildlife and wildlife habitat in Wek'èezhìi. It may do this through informal meetings or through more formal proceedings such as a public hearing. A public registry contains all the information presented to the Board during a proceeding.
